Hobble and kick

Should hobbled monks be able to kick and/or double kick unhindered?

Logically it makes sense that they would not be able to. But that's not the only important thing! Balance comes first.

Hobble reduces dex, and dodge, which hurts monks. (hurts most classes). It also makes fleeing tricky, though from my experience both doing the hobbling and getting hobbled, it doesn't really affect fleeing that much. And correct me if I'm wrong here, but the bonus attacks you get, ie. sidearm smash etc. don't proc against monks, at least not that I've seen.

Again correct me if I'm wrong, but being hobbled prevents rogue skills like sidestep. Should it also prevent kick?

Also, monks are definitely not the only class that can kick, nor even double kick, so should hobble prevent kicks on all classes? I suppose if it were to affect any it would affect all.

What's everyone think?

p.s. if I'm in the wrong forum and this should be in Ideas and Suggestions please relocate it for me, I wasn't sure.

That is actually a very good observation which makes a good amount of sense.

I am inclined to agree. Especially for lightning or double kick. Perhaps make it a much lower success rate for any extra kick attacks after the basic "kick" while hobbled?

Ok, what you are describing is basically iron body. This is more interesting than weapon resistance. Do you have any other ideas like this? I've been itching to do something new with iron body anyways.

So you're saying iron body passively(?) counter acts the effects of hobble? Making hobbling them absolutely pointless? or they have to use iron body, somewhat like it is activated currently, and then it negates a hobble, but if you hobble them without them having it active then it still works?

that does make sense. Their iron body training may make them resistant to being hobbled. I can't really think of any other similar skills it would make them resistant to though, maybe nerve?

It is cool that you're looking to change iron body. But even with this change it becomes basically a monk buff and a hobble nerf. When we were originally looking for the opposite of that. Haha

Bumping because of recent changes. Is this still relevant discussion, or no?

(a paladin's newly found iron will certainly seems to do some stuff which iron body might be able to do...)
