On Armor Values and 'Considerations'

Hello, everyone. I've a question that has been confusing me for a bit.

So I made an Invoker. And while running up and down, I came across Shador the pirate whose title I've forgotten. I CONSIDERed him, and was told my Invoker could defeat him naked and weaponless (said Invoker being in level 32, and doing a level 20 quest). So I attacked, and died. I felt that Invokers probably have poor natural defenses, and that was why I was slaughtered. Better planning would do the trick. I came again, this time with armor, weapon ward and a mana shield (just in case) and spammed flame arrow, and died again. My character had the Midnight Vigil bonus, and my armor defenses against physical attacks were on average about 103 (without armor). The pirate's attacks did not look magical.

That's the background that leads to my question, which is this: do classes (e.g. mages) have reduced advantages to wearing armor? Also, can the CON command mislead people to their deaths?

Hope those aren't stupid questions. Thanks.

I will say that the CON command can be misleading. It is important to look at the *** in AC, DAM and uh whatever the third one is. Mana shield is fine for magical attacks, but physical damage will shred you. Use a mercenary (they dirt kick) and a pet. If you dont have sanctuary spell yet, use purple potions.

Invokers arent penalized for wearing armor, but they have parry and shield block only. Invokers are meat-sacks until you get to the upper ranks.

Okay, thanks a million. A meat-sack covered in armor is still a meat-sack. I'd better stop being a miser and spend my gold on mercs, then.

Finally, the bit of advice no one mentioned, Don't forget to "flee" if it's not going your way. Mobs tend to chase also, so if you flee from something near death, leave the area quickly so as not to get attacked again.

I'm learning daily how useful fleeing is. Even in real life, haha.
