New to AR

Hey all!
I'm coming here from another mud that I've loved for 20 years (Off and on with long breaks), but it's basically dead and it's gotten lonely playing by myself. AR is the closest in feel and gameplay I've seen, but you have some really cool game mechanics that totally change the way I need to learn to play. It's been fun learning this place.
Everybody has been super helpful and I really appreciate the guidance I've gotten so far. There's a lot to take in and learn, and the people I've met so far have been the biggest reason I stayed early on to learn to the game. Thank you all.
I'm still learning to RP. It's something I've never done and doesn't come naturally, but I appreciate the importance it plays here, so I've been working on it. I definitely wish I'd spent more time reading and learning before character creation, but I'm in too deep now. So, now I'm just doing a LOT of reading about who I'm supposed to be and what this means.
I guess, finally, it's probably worth mentioning that you might come across my linkdead body from time to time. I mostly play at work as a full time fireman, so when the tones go off, I don't have the luxury of waiting for calm or heading back to my guild hall. Instead, I'm trying to just run to a decently secure spot, closing my laptop and running to the engine.
Anyway, what a long winded way to say hi. I'll see you guys out there!

Check us out on discord if you have time - link on the website. Plenty of banter on there and also if you need to ask questions when you're not playing.
RP can be very rewarding, but it's really up to your interpretations, as long as you got some reasonable reasoning for what you're doing, you can do whatever your heart desires (within the rules).

I'm pretty sure one of our so-called "elite" players was once a forest firefighter (but he may have retired). So if there's a place for him, there's a place for you as well!
