Outcasting?

Sylthar bypassed the request mechanisms, and this was very clearly shown on the log boards by a post Davairus made showing the logs of the attacks on the mobs.

I'm not trying to start a witch hunt here, but I thought that the penalty for bypassing/abusing the request mechanisms was becoming an outcast from the Light?

What troubles me is this player has played 44 and a half hours so far this month and there was seemingly no punishment for a serious breach of alignment values. Argue that all you want, but there is this bit in HELP REQUEST which I think is appropriate here for somebody who did lowbie PKing and attacked good mobs to obtain equipment they were too low a level to request:

"Misuse of request will lead to the character being converted to a
NEUTRAL alignment, as is appropriate for an individual who is concerned
with themselves instead of leading a life in service of the Light."

Sylthar even admitted indirectly to attacking Sherman on the log boards.

So why wasn't Sylthar punished with outcasting? Even if the player's account was stripped of reputable and/or elite privileges, the character clearly wasn't following the second rule (stay in-character at all times). because they weren't acting appropriately for their alignment. I don't feel the character should be allowed to get away with such obvious transgressions, even if the player decides to simply roll another character after the punishment is applied.

So why wasn't this dealt with? I suspect the character is planning to apply to a cabal because they're at level 25 right now. If they applied to the Knights, such an application should be denied outright because the character failed to uphold the values of the Light.

Let me preface this with, and while I do love you, its always a witch hunt with you. The fact that you specifically named a character in a public forum indicates intent. There are better forums in which to make this inquiry.

The character is already dead on arrival. There is no redemption arc for that kind of poor roleplay in an attempt to powergame. There is zero chance to be accepted into Knights.

Two things here. The penalty for abusing request is to lose the ability to request, and the second thing is that THIS is not the place for something like this. This is the easiest way to insure that nothing happens to the person you are concerned about.

As I recall I explained in my post, I observed that he would not give much fuck if I destroyed a level 12 character (delete/outcast/etc) and decided to just address the racial legacy that had caused the character's easy victory over the golems. It seemed more than appropriate at the time. Maybe in hindsight, we could delete the character, but he's not going to care, and I don't regret the nerfbat on silver leaves.

He didnt abuse request, he killed good align mobs because he was too low a level to request the items, which yeah, would get you an outcast. Isn't really a punishment for a warrior, though.
