I really tried to get into this one, but not my cup of tea. Got jumped training, that was on me. But silent pk from one of the premier players of the game just killed whatever momentum I was building. RP after the fact is still silent pk. See you in the next one.

Maybe it's because I'm new, but wouldn't being killed by one of the premier players of the game be somewhat expected? Not that it's not a bummer, but I don't know that it's worth deleting when you're fighting against one of the elites.
I'm with you on the ranger thing though. It always seems like a cool idea until I roll one and then I feel kinda... meh about it.

Please DO NOT apply to Warlords if you are going to be the first to fold over a gank. This cabal is dedicated to excellence. Including honorable play (literally, NOT silent ganking), challenge and mental toughness. We do not have or at all want a culture of quitting to take root in Warlords.
Its been said before, scorched earth deletes are a much bigger problem for this game's RP than a few silent PK's. It punches these toxic holes into the game's lore. We have a whole bunch of Warlords and other players who invested their time helping to level this character. That is all meaningless now.

I just wasn’t feeling the ranger. I apologize to those who the delete impacted negatively and I’ll do better on the next one.

Perhaps not relevant if you just weren't feeling ranger but do keep in mind that a DKN in particular is asked by the game to run about doing this to power up their soul bound weapon.
I think I got the exact same experience from the exact same player that you described. If they didn't loot you then there really is no harm no foul. It doesn't set an expectation that they'll be doing this all the time. They just need to get soul fragments into their dibbily-doo.

I can understand the not feeling a class, I try out multiple different class and race variations. I will drop some cause I do not like the health, or drop some because I just do not like the feel of combat with them. The ganking thing is more a meh whatever to me. The point is if your not liking it, just say that or don't up to you. Good Luck with the next one. Try a paladin maybe next.

If you weren't looking to challenge yourself somehow, then why did you make this character a Warlord in the first place?
I'll admit, one of my first Warlords was a drow warrior and I was anticipating it to be difficult, but the attitude I got from a cabal mate was beyond rude. He basically said to my face, you shouldn't have bothered making this character because your combination is so bad, which was a serious affront and I went inactive as a result. And the guy who said that made it to Warmaster later.
Dav never hesitated to respond to my PMs while I was playing Afales, and he is a fair cabal Immortal. If you are having problems or something is letting you down, or even if there's something unrelated to AR which is impacting your ability to play well, just let him know. He certainly seemed to come across me in both my bad and whimsical moods sometimes but he was patient because he knew I wasn't a quitter. I'm sure it made a difference to him knowing that I live in Florida and knowing in advance that Hurricane Milton was on its way to my area and as such, I couldn't guarantee showing up on that particular Friday night as per my agreed obligation with him.

Honestly, rangers are not really gankable at all. you literally have a falcon appearing next to you when a PK enters your area. If you dont have time to react to that, camouflage makes getting away really easy (its not rubbish at all with just evasive adrenaline), and they have good defences, solid hp with herb, and even if you didnt stack barkskin on that, you could still be wearing hp/saves gear for training. There are literally layers to rangers survival traits. So you have to really set yourself up to be a defenseless victim. I mean to the point that if ganking is something you dont like, the advise would be play a ranger, because that might be the hardest class to gank. I can't think of a harder class to gank than a ranger, even if you dont initially react or type who pk whatsoever

Its pretty easy to gank someone who isn't wearing any saves, has pretty bad gear, doesn't have anti blind in inventory and you land blind with the surprise attack against someone with way more skill and way better gear. Even though I was training, I was paying attention, cleared the spam from training and did a bit of blind running, even outmaneuvered multiple summons, but wasn't able to get away in the end. It happens. If it had been something I was enjoying playing I would probably not have deleted to the gank. I understand it was stupid to not be prepared for it and entirely my fault it happened. I guess we can continue to harp on it- or we can move on.

I don't see anything wrong with having a post-mortem about it. It seems like the applicable saying here is people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, right? You were all cool with writing about being silent pk'ed by "premier" players, but then when we assess and find your own lack of effort is at fault, its time to move on. OK sure then lets move on. Think twice before slandering other players after you delete I guess.

Davairus, this may not be the best forum to ask this, but you bring up falcons. Having not really played a ranger to any notable rank, they just come to your aid automatically? Do Jagar rangers get those falcons as well? Or do they only bring panthers? I only now realize how little I actually know about rangers.

I'll answer your questions in a PM on the forums, Ventana, so we don't keep bumping this topic.
