I remember our younger days training in the gnome village with Darrak, before we ever rose to become squires, memories I will always hold dear.

If I were the leader of Knights the first thing I would do would be to put humility back into the oaths, its kind of the whole point of the Arthur myth. He and other Knights of the round table were on this quest to get into heaven, often they had sinners join Knights hoping to earn redemption. So they would always be trying to be worthy. If you look at Thor, he's more like the Knights we have here, but even he has to at least stay worthy of his hammer (Mjolnir) or will be unable to lift it. I'm not sure where that all originates from btw, I'm just saying you can tell I'm not the leader of Knights because that isnt mandated.

Pip and I rarely ranked together. We usually weren't playing the game at the same time. And if we were, we were going after each other usually in opposing cabals. Netheusa and Vyvax was the first time in YEARS I have grouped with Pip, and I can assure you we were both ready for the other to attack. But that is how we played. We have always frowned upon OOC. I created characters to destroy the OOC rings. That to me, is what I always thought killed the game for me.
But what killed it for me may not have killed it for other people, so everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don't give a rats ass anymore. Move on.

I will also add this: OOC knowledge was never shared between us unless one of us wanted to share it after a deletion. We haven't had a lot of catching up for like 20 years, because life happened and we have our own lives and distractions & responsibilities.. Though for AR, we were always on the straight and narrow. I'd always go for the most powerful rated players, I never cared who it was. Go back to invokation logs and you'll see 'goatwhore', me, telling Pip that I was coming after him. I wasn't going to claim this character, stopped claiming characters a year or three ago, primarily because of drama like this. However, people are questioning my integrity and the integrity of the staff here.
So I lead Legion as the Immortal leader, and you have one camp that says I can't play in my cabal, because I am the leader and that's a conflict of interest, but another camp that says I can't play in my enemies cabals, because that is a conflict of interest. Legion is every cabals enemy, and they are intended to be, so with those logics am I not allowed to play the game?
I have played a series of characters mostly in my own cabal because it was empty, and one of the first rules of playing in your own cabal is you can't promote yourself, so even though I did well in my own cabal, I was always one of the lowest ranked members until I promoted a Forsaken, and they decided to move me up. I was fine with it and enjoyed it. This time I decided to play a knight to challenge myself differently, and when I saw the writing on the wall, and realized I was going to be Executor soon, I had a conversation with Dav about it. A long one, about conflicts of interest and whether it was a good idea or not. You know what I was told? I was told Knights needed someone like me at the time to fight the vets in Legion, and to help the noobs out, and I feel like I did a good job at that, luckily that was the feedback I received too.
There are accusations of OOC behavior, and I will tell you right now, there was little to no OOC coordination and if there was, it was handled in game(Thus not OOC, and it was for various activities like returning to rank someone, take them to winter, do the cabal challenge, etc typical in-game planning), planning to play for Friday night surge and things like that. My play times were usually pretty consistent, I play primarily in the evenings, although occasionally work slows down and I have time to play at other times. Not once did I ever coordinate log ins, ask for who lists, or do any kind of bad behavior to get out of PVP. Why bother? I live to fight in this game, and I enjoy the challenging fights. If you felt like I logged out on you at times, well we are all older and have wives/kids and whatever other responsibilities that take our time away, and let me tell you, when you have wife aggro you log out.
What I didn't do, was play multiple mortal characters. I had several below 40 characters that never made it anywhere, to test things out and kill time if I knew I couldn't stay for forced cabal defense etc, but we all do that. At the end of the day, I deleted because my time has been super stretched thin lately, all my kids are in the process of growing up, work is busy, I travel a lot for work, and lots of after school activities. Bottom line is, it's not up to anyone to decide what is a conflict of interest and what is not, but higher level imms.
One thing I can say for certain, I stayed in character 100% of the time I was logged in, and never once broke character, those of you who actually interacted with me in more than PVP knew what my roleplay was about. The rest, it was your loss.

I wouldn't think there would be any problem playing in the cabal you are the leader in as long as you never make the mortal leader of that cabal. That doesn't seem like a bad thing. Also, probably the only camp that matters is Dav's, and he was fine with it, so no harm no foul sounds like.

If you do play the game, there is going to be accusations of conflict of interest. I have sometimes been accused of that by other imms so I understand how that actually feels. It fucking sucks and it makes you not want to play the game anymore, putting you right back into the "losing interest" death spiral.
When an imms mortal is revealed or claimed, then its like an auto "gotcha" for that conflict of interest, a bunch of confirmation bias will inevitably get spun up and helped along by various players with an axe to grind or just conspiracy minded. Trust should not be about these "gotcha" moments where someone was just revealing a char and you went "AHA" and threw down. Lets stop worrying about who played who, and instead look at who actually cares. Does Dogran care about the game as much as you , that is what it boils down to for me. Meanwhile, Thorgoth and Arunore have only shown that they dont give any fucks lately.

I was hesitant to even respond to this GY because I knew drama would blow over and initially, I thought if I posted I would end up contributing to it. But since some time has passed and I can go about this with a level head now, I will say that I am pretty sure I made Dogran's job as Executor harder as a direct result of one of my Nobles applying a couple anathema flags (the one Eira got for attacking the Palace, I realize that may not have been the correct choice. Zhryx killing the same character on the other hand... I'm pretty sure killing a Noble is sufficient cause to be instantly marked anathema if they haven't been deliberately provoking people) - I deleted the Noble character because I felt I was making things worse overall for Valour and that was a way of putting an end to what I was doing, positive or negative (it felt mostly negative).
I'll admit, I care a lot about this game and I care about integrity. I won't go into the specifics about this character and will just say, I no longer have reason to bitch about virtues not being followed the way I have interpreted them (which also involved one of my characters going inactive recently after essentially being silent PKed by a squire during their career - I was rather upset about that but it no longer matters. Both this character and mine have been laid to rest. And I think that is where this needs to go. Laid to rest peacefully.).

I’ll repeat what I said earlier, it would be weird if the imms didn’t play.
The playerbase is so small, who would even be in these cabals anymore? As it stands I see 2 regular warlords, one legion, one knight (now), and a sudden resurgence of justice (but prior to that, one).
