Now that rares are available to form your best curated set, what is truly missing now is balls. I don't know if the wish list is available now, but my wish is where pk tells you what area people in your pk range are. So if a level 50 fire giant is willing to kill a guy 8 levels below him, but insta quits when someone in his pk range is hunting him you can actually document this as bitch activity. While this won't stop someone from quitting when calm, but at least I will have maybe 90 seconds to get to their area before they quit out. And if I am getting my ass kicked and I miracously escape and out run you, you have a way of finishing the job. I am fine with both sides.

If you have tenor or torments and you insta quit on anybody that logs on with higher rating, the game auto-logs and posts the log of it with this....

That sounds like something that gives the elites an even bigger edge. My one saving grace is that I can go run and heal up while you look for me (then I can come back at you again). Granted, maybe I’m an outlier, because I actually want to fight, even knowing I’m going to get stomped, but something like this would give an overwhelming edge to those of you that have this place memorized. Most you already have an amazing ability to find someone on the map really freakishly fast.
My first day in the Warlords, Dav said something to the effect of “never quit out, it causes you to doubt yourself, live in fear and it can be hard to recover from that. Have the confidence to fight.” I’m 100% paraphrasing here but I took the concept to heart. So, with that in mind, these guys that are quitting out have a mindset ingrained in them. They will always live in fear. Especially if they’ve been around longer than me - they may have years or decades of this habit set in the foundation of their mind. It probably does come from the old mindset of full looting, even though that seems to be a dying thing here.
I have trouble coming up with a solution because I have trouble understanding the other part of the why - why go through all the effort of ranking, training and obtaining the best gear just to never get to actually use it? Just make a Consortium character and enjoy the roleplay if you don’t want to fight.
But, back to coming up with solutions - we already have minimum login hours to keep rares, login timers, aggression timers, easy access to rares, an ability to keep a few really special items, and a culture that’s shifting away from full looting. I don’t know how much more we can do at this point. We can’t MAKE someone stay and fight against their will. I don’t see what’s fun about it for them, but at some point, that’s gotta be their right… right?

So you want a free where is my opponent? Maybe a so and so is somewhere to your east, or westward etc, but it would have to be super vague, and also situational.

I've voiced my thoughts about this issue several times only to get yawned. But I've since then quit playing for this exact same reason; once you get few kills, people start to notice and simply log out when you appear, yet they will stay to snipe the stream and log on when they can join some bandwagon.
It doesn't even seem to matter if it's caballed char, #1 ranked char or whatever, the meta is to log out if there's any threat of you dying and it's fucking retarded that you have such a simple out from any accountability.
Change the quitting out to only be taken place at specific Innkeepers/Taverns, so you don't just quit out anywhere you want, you'd have to go for specific place, otherwise if you quit out your gear won't be saved. Exception should be vampires and other similar ones who can quit out in their coffin or make camp etc.

I love the new crop of newbies. What sucks is the same people complaining about people quitting out are the people silent pking same newbies. I've observed it multiple times now. I'd support expanding something like a nemesis system where you would be able to activate a brief adrenaline on an enemy you have interacted with before in a meaningful way. Actually making them an enemy by having an interaction instead of just popping on, clearing your range, and logging off.
I personally like fighting against the odds, its always been my thing, but theres no meaning for me if you're just trying to put points on the board and you don't interact with me other than to find me and attack me and only speak to try to goad me into fighting you on your terms. Its super asinine and a turn off. I'd rather just spam train something.

Also forcing logout in specific rooms would be something I could get behind to stop immediate quit outs. But knowing M1co, he would just camp those rooms, and he wouldn't be the only one.

Have you considered maybe what you are doing is discouraging the other players from wanting to play? I mean, just zoom out and look at it. They are logging off rather than fight you, but why does that mean they are a coward? That's the only plausible explanat
ion?
Personally I would log off on a player because I recognize him from what he says in forums and just being generally OOC. If everyone knows which character is your guy - whether youre ozaru, dogran, m1co, xenyar, whoever it is - if you don't try hard to uphold the mask of IC, thats going to alienate your fellow gamers. They are going to find you way less interesting, and maybe a whole lot more intimidating because of community reputations earned along the way.
You can absolutely draw RP'ers into combat. Try being way more IC. That can make it seem "cool", instead of toxic. If you have any questions about that, you guys should talk to Solmundi. He's VERY good at it. Solmundi has multiple HoE characters and tons of kills.
