Introduction of dead. Old, new, then new again.

I decided this was the place to say HI! to everyone. I don't know if there are any 98-99 era player still around, but I was. That was highschool for me. I played Drizztt and a ninja I don't remember his name, and when I felt like being an ass, I was Cyric the Halfling Thief that killed everyone when they first entered PK. I am past that now...

I am married, couple of kids, and have been really enjoying my time back in AR.

I was Zanderic when the Heralds were just loosing their cabal item. Long time now since that happened. Think 2005 ish. If not I did play around 2003 I think but I dont remember much about what was going on in the game at that time.

Unfortunatly after I became High Herald and started to become sorta noteable ( mostly for my bad combat skills) I lost my job and had to focus on school. I think he must have been deleted due to inactivity, although I havnt seen a graveyard for him yet. How long do you need to be inactive before that happens?

The issue is opting in. Some old characters (probably Zanderic included, I remembering having to opt in with a couple of my characters who came later than him) had to ask an immortal to opt them in. I believe doing so reset their pk record to some degree, which is why the manualness was necessary.

Ya I opted to be an immortal the same time that Vhrael did. Perhaps once I rank some more characters up to 50 I might be considered again.

I think both of you are talking about two different issues. What Vevier meant was that you have to "opt in" so that you can be seen in the Graveyard.

Anyway, is Zanderic now a mobile somewhere in Thera? His name sounds familiar.

In the mean time, Zanderic, I think you're talking about applying for immortal. Opting in is very different.

Basically when you opt in, you are resetting your pk record (but not deaths etc) in order to be part of the ratings and to have your graveyard thread posted for you when you condie/delete/inactivity. All characters made after a certain date are automatically opted in, but I believe Zanderic was created before that time. here is the link to the thread that came out about it and here is a thread that Tork made explaining things a little bit better.

If I do become an imm one day, I was hoping that I would be able to choose that character. He was my first to reach past 35, and will always be my favorite. Oh, is there a helpfile or something on inactivity? Like how long do you have to be inactive before you loose your character?

I remember flying around on your back, and that interesting treasure hunt that pirate Legion immortal did. Good times.

I remember the Herald quizzes and skipping classes in order to make the one that happened during my school day. I also remember Tork being put on trial...cough

That was a harsh sentance! I think I moved the poetry section into the toilets of the Heralds Tavern after that, much to Vanisse's annoyance.

That goat thing got a little annoying after it went on for around three years. I remember some Justice wearing a fake goat outfit just to flirt with me. :roll:
