So, I've yet to create a character yet...so many choices.I also need a good (free) client and learn some macro scripts[gimpy left hand and all].I've ever played a PK MUD...and it really has been a while since I've played peroid.Hmmm
I hope to see you all in the ext day or so, I'll post the characters name ASAP

Welcome! I removed the last post to preserve your character's mystique. Most of our players prefer not to know who's behind the keyboard of their friends and foes until they finally find their way into the graveyard. Enjoy, and don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Zmud and Gmud have way worse input delays than JMC.
I suggest downloading pre 3.x JMC and then you can own Nadrin just like everyone else ;)
http://speedy.sh/eQaqa/JMC2.rar
I uploaded it for you.
To connect, use:
#connect abandonedrealms.wolfpaw.net 9000
Aliases:
#alias <yourkey> <what it does>
Triggers/actions:
#ac <trigger line> <reaction>
and so on.
Google for JMC mud client help for precise walkthrough.
I have been mudding for 15 years now and JMC has been the top notch choice so far. Everything else is just too bloated.

I'm a big fan of zMUD mostly because of the support. There's a lot more prewritten 'code' /guides for just about anything you can think of doing in game. I did use JMC and ROA client but both of those seems to lack the breadth of zmud

But why would you want a bot to play the game for you? Few aliases and variables for PK and some actions for xping is all you ever need...
I used to play this crap on plain telnet from 12" black&white terminal and never imagined to lack anything...

I've always noticed that zmud does have that delay like you mentioned.
It isn't about having a bot tho. zMUD just has more support and more features. Whenever I tried a new client there would usually just be 1 or 2 things I wanted to do that I just couldn't - but could with zMUD, like timers, or other stuff I can't remember. The zMUD scripting language is really well mapped out too in the help archives. Not sure about the other clients.

On newer JMC, you can use VBScript or jScript to do ANYTHING and quite possibly more than in zMUD. You could basically build a mud in a mud within a mud if you would want some mudception. I have seen some sick shit being compiled at another mud, using VBScript and JMC.
Idk, i just feel very anti-zmud, because first of all, the quality lacks, a real pvper could never play with a client that has an input delay that you can actually feel and ALSO, it FUCKING ASKS MONEY! - This is not what muds and related projects are for, if you want to make money go fucking build some WoW-related shits, but keep the commercial gayage away from muds!
Example of a tiny script of JMC and VB to show how you can make a "blind monitor" which keeps track on everything you blind and for how long.

It isn't that long of a delay and I think by lowering the history size and, the buffer, and some other stuff I pretty much removed it entirely.

I use JMC as well, it has support for aliases and triggers and a tell window: all you need. You really don't need to pay for a client

I also prefer JMC. I really like that real-time log recorder it has.
